The Platteville School Board continued the process of adding staff for the 2013–14 school year Monday night.

The board voted to hire:

•    Jacquelyn England, currently an intern, as middle school Language Arts and Social Studies teacher.

•    Jaimie Ariss, a UW–La Crosse graduate certified in Special Education and Regular Education, for a middle school teaching position to be determined later.

•    Jolene Nies, a 4K teaching assistant at Neal Wilkins, as Neal Wilkins’ administrative assistant.

The school board also voted to approve support staff notices of assignment for 10 full-time calendar-year, 25 full-time school-year, and 22 part-time school-year employees for next school year.

District superintendent Connie Valenza said one or two teaching assistant positions, including Nies’ former position, may need to be eliminated next school year.
