Since the beginning of October, with each new week, pledges for the Driver Opera House restoration project have been gaining momentum to save the historic building for Lafayette County and future generations.
    The recent movie premier pledge drive featuring the movie, Old Fashioned, raised close to $80,000 with more pledges coming in daily.
    Thus far, the Driver Opera House has raised $115,000 towards the $250,000 sum needed to obtain a matching funds grant to start the restoration. The grant expires at the end of the year; therefore, $135,000 is still needed in pledges and/or donations.
    Any size donation or pledge (payable over 2-5 years) would be greatly appreciated. The last couple of months have started the restoration fundraising with great enthusiasm from the community. With great momentum going now, even more support is needed.
