Fire Officers complete highest level of training

Twelve fire officers recently completed the highest certification for fire officers in the State of Wisconsin, Fire Officer II Certification Training offered by Southwest Tech. This is the first time the class has been held in Southwest Wisconsin. FENNIMORE- Twelve fire officers from Southwest Wisconsin completed the highest certification for fire officers in the State of Wisconsin, Fire Officer II Certification Training, offered by Southwest Tech on Dec. 17, 2015. This is the first time the class has been held in the Southwest Tech District consisting of Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, and Crawford counties.

The course is twelve weeks and focuses on administrative operations of fire departments. The fire officers previously completed Fire Officer I Certification, which focuses on fire department tactical operations. In order to reach this training level, the fire officers previously completed 260 hours of course training through Southwest Tech, not including the many hours of in-house training and seminars attended for continuing eduction.

These officers represent the Avoca & Rural, Barneveld-Brigham, Cuba City, Darlington, Lancaster, Mt. Horeb, and Platteville Fire Departments. The staff at Southwest Tech thank them for their commitment and service to the community.
