John O. Arling, 85, of Dubuque, formerly of Dickeyville, passed away suddenly at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at home.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at Dickeyville. Rev. Bernard Rott and Rev. Francis Steffen officiated. Burial was  in the church cemetery, where full military honors were accorded.

Friends called from 3–8 p.m. on Monday at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque,  where the parish prayer service was at 7:30 p.m. Friends also called from 12:30–1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.millerfhed.com.
