Lamoine James Hiner, age 67, of Reedsburg, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Sauk County Health Care Center from complications of progressive supranuclear palsy. He was born on Dec. 28, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of George and Beverly (Dickow) Hiner.

Jim, as he was known by family and friends, was raised near Wilton, WI on a farm.  Professionally, as a semi driver, he drove over the road for over 38 years.  Jim worked for many companies, some of the local ones being:  Skinner Transfer, Heding’s, Hartje Lumber, J & S trucking, and Schultz Bros. Dime Stores.   He also drove for other companies, the last two being Stoughton Trailers of Stoughton and W & A Trucking of Fort Atkinson.   He drove across the USA many times and put on many miles.  Jim loved to travel and meet new friends.  He loved the great outdoors and the grand natural beauty of this country.

His hobbies when not driving were:  hunting, fishing, camping and riding his beloved BMW motorcycles.  He also loved spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by Mary, his wife of 48 years; sons, Bill (Ann) of Elberon, VA,  Roy, (Noemi Torres) of Wisconsin Dells, Jim L.  (Irene) of Kendall; grandchildren:  James Jr. Hiner and Laura Hiner, both of Kendall; mother, Beverly Oswald, of Salt Lake City UT; sister, Linda (Dennis) Bodine of Apple Valley, UT;   sister-in-law, JoAnn (Larry) Reed, of Beloit; mother-in-law, Mamie Ewers, of Elroy; niece, Jody Baumann, and her family, of Mc Allen, TX; nephews, Dennis and Jeremy Bodine of Salt Lake City UT and their families.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Hiner; stepfather, Mel Oswald; father-in-law, Lewis Ewers; sister in law, Danielle Chase ;and brother-in-law, Jim Chase.

A memorial service for Lamoine “Jim” Hiner will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg.  Visitation will take place on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Private family burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaValle, at a later date.
