Hillsboro has another chance to show its giant heart and genuine concern for folks  in need of some help.

Little 8-year-old Andres Campos, who just finished second grade at the Elementary School, has been battling Leukemia for the last four years…but not without loving family and friends who have been holding his hands and praying throughout the entire time.

Now, they are moving to a higher goal with plans for two fundraisers in the immediate future.
First, there will be a silent auction from 3-8 p.m. on Aug. 2 in the Norwalk gymnasium. The event will feature food, music, and a silent auction that will, of course, feature many great items that are sure to stir interest in bidders of all ages.

In addition, from now until Aug. 30 special raffles and bake sales will be featured at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells.

One raffle includes a Matthews bow, muzzle loader gun, Dale Earnhardt Sr. limited edition clock, and other prizes. The tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

Another raffle features an autographed Green Bay Packers football. Tickets for that raffle are $5 each.

A savings account has also been started at Farmers State Bank in Hillsboro in the names of Rebecca Muller or Brad Muller for the Campos Family Benefit.

History buffs and City of Hillsboro lovers will be paying tribute to the Albert Field family at the 100th Anniversary celebration of Albert Field Memorial Park on Aug. 2 at 1 p.m.

The Historical Society has been trying to locate Field ancestors to invite them to the tribute. I’m sure they would really enjoy a visit to the museum, as would you.

The land for the popular park that has been used for decades for family reunions of all generations of local folks, was given to the city by Ella Field.
In 1914, the Hillsboro Village Board published a message of appreciation to Ella Field in the Hillsboro Sentry-Enterprise.
“We the undersigned members of the Village Board of Hillsboro , Wis. in behalf of the citizens of said village, hereby desire to send a vote of thanks to Miss Ella Field for the donation to our village of about three acres for park purposes, the same to be known as Albert Field Park In as much as Miss Field has been our benefactor, it behooves us as citizens to lend a helping hand and devise means to make Albert Field Park the beauty spot of our village.
