Gays Mills

Editor-

Mark your calendars for the Main Street Community Festival in Gays Mills on Sunday, August 24, 2 to 4 p.m.

The event is being held to raise money to maintain the historic Gays Mills Community Building, and also to celebrate Main Street and the entire Gays Mills community – and to have fun! There will be ice cream and baked goods, music and games and activities for young and old. We will also have a silent auction with many and varied items donated from artists, local businesses and individuals.

This afternoon of fun for the whole family is to raise money to pay the utilities and other expenses of the building. If you have an item or service you would like to donate for the silent auction, please call 735-4117. We also are looking for cash contributions to buy gift certificates from local businesses that will be available for bidding.

The Gays Mills Community Building on Main Street is getting a lot of use when space in the new Gays Mills Community Commerce Center is already booked or by users who like the features of the older building. “A city without old buildings is like a man without a memory.” Please help us preserve this historic treasure by attending the Main Street Community Festival in Gays Mills on Sunday, August 24.
