Letters to The Platteville Journal for Feb. 6

He asks for your vote

I have served as your at-large alderman for the last six years. During that period your city taxes have decreased, and at the same time our basic core services have been maintained. Since I was first elected the city’s assessed value has increased 141 percent, and street reconstruction has significantly increased.

I have supported economic development, which increases our tax base and helps us maintains services without raising taxes. In addition, I support maintaining family neighborhoods and keeping a strong downtown economic base.
If you look at my voting record for the last six years, you know I am a good steward of your tax dollars. I stand for honesty and transparency; you know where I stand on an issue. I vote for what I believe is the right thing to do for the City of Platteville.

I would appreciate your support in the primary election. If you want me to represent you on the city council for the next three years, come out and vote on Feb. 19. Please encourage your neighbors to vote as well.

Thanks for your support.
